This is an interesting read. Being you have to pay for the whole thing, I didn’t get to read the whole thing, but I read the first chapter (which it allows you to do online free).
I’ve been a Metallica fan for a long time, so it only made sense for this to seen interesting when I first saw the link. The book is about a preacher that decided to do a sermon on Metcallia’s music and it’s meaning. But it’s not exactly the parts about Metallica that got to me (as interesting as the main idea of this book is). It is what the author did and wrote in this book that interested me the most.
One quote that suck out to me a lot was when the author was looking into the life history of all the band members, this coming specifically from when he was researching James Hatfields past:
What gives us the right to engage God’s world this way? How can we treat the elements of God’s good creationso callously? God made it all. It’s all his. What makes us think we can judge it as harshly as we do? Who says weget to draw the lines? No wonder many outside the faith view Christians as naïve and judgmental.
I’m putting this on my wish list.
